Happy Cargo Bike option
This bike is sold without a motor or battery. We can fit it with an electric kit tailored to you: you choose the motor power and battery capacity according to your use. Feasibility confirmed depending on the model.
Motor power
Up to 250 W: an electrically assisted bicycle under European law, with assistance up to 25 km/h.
Above 250 W, the bike is no longer an electrically assisted bicycle under the law: its use is the customer’s sole responsibility.
Battery capacity (Wh = volts × amp-hours)
| Voltage | 11 Ah | 13 Ah | 16 Ah | 17 Ah | 19 Ah | 20 Ah |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 36 V | 396 Wh | 468 Wh | 576 Wh | 612 Wh | 684 Wh | 720 Wh |
| 48 V | 528 Wh | 624 Wh | 768 Wh | 816 Wh | 912 Wh | 960 Wh |
The higher the capacity, the further you ride between charges.
The battery = the tank
Its capacity is measured in watt-hours (Wh): voltage (V) multiplied by amp-hours (Ah). More Wh means more kilometres between charges, but neither more speed nor more power.
The motor = the strength
What matters is torque, in newton-metres (Nm): it makes the difference when setting off, on hills and with children or a load. For an electrically assisted bicycle, European law limits power to 250 W and cuts assistance at 25 km/h: maximum assisted speed is therefore the same for all; a higher-torque motor reaches it more easily, even when loaded.
Range = your use
With the same battery, range varies a lot depending on the assistance level chosen (from Eco to Turbo), hills, the weight carried, average speed, wind, tyre pressure and cold weather, which reduces capacity.
The right motor and battery depend on your route (hills, distance, load, passengers): we choose them together when you send us your request.
