What the report covers: Transition Vélo visited Dijon, where Douze Cycles builds Toyota's first cargo bike. The Cargo Verso is Toyota's version of Douze's Hêta front-loader, with a frame made in France, sold through the Toyota dealer network. In this first ride, the tester highlights surprisingly agile, comfortable handling for a 60 kg front-loader, first-rate braking (Tektro 4-piston hydraulic discs) and a versatile front box that takes two small passengers, plus 35 kg on the rear rack. Yamaha PW-X3 motor with 85 Nm, 500 Wh battery and a claimed range of up to 100 km. The tester's reservations: battery a little small for intensive use, high weight, and no frame lock included. The magazine's final score: 8/10.
